Laughlin, Nevada: Firefighters from multiple fire departments agencies are on scene of a vegetation fire that is burning off Aztec Road just to the south of the Avi Resort and Casino.
ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez is on scene of the vegetation fire broadcasting live on Facebook.
The flames are to the west of the Colorado River, and have moved to the south, burning from the Laughlin, Nevada side into the Needles, California side, and burning into move vegetation.
Firefighters that are on scene includes Mohave Valley Fire Department, Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department, Bullhead City Fire Department, Oatman Fire Department, Golden Valley Fire Department, Golden Valley Fire Department, Desert Hills Fire Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department from Station 32 in Needles, California, Station 22 in Victorville, California, Station 36 in Joshua Tree, California as well as Bureau of Land Management Fire Department.
According to Don Gibson with the Mohave Valley Fire Department, the vegetation fire is approximately 50 acres burning in heavy fuel, there is 0% containment at this time, no injuries reported and the cause of the vegetation fire is under investigation.
Firefighters are making good progress on battling the vegetation fire, and will remain on scene overnight.
Small portion of Aztec Road from the entrance of the Avi Resort and Casino parking lot to Aha Macav Parkway is closed, and motorists are getting around the closure through the parking lot.
The cause of the vegetation fire is not yet known.
